Evangelism takes many forms, love this!!
Yup!
From Whitney Brown: I had a revelation today while dreaming about my grandmother, Jessie. She was never "down". Always an optimist. Jessie's faith was great. So great she made sure I was raised in the Episcopalian faith. For that I am truly grateful. When I left God for much of my life, He was always there. I believe that the depth of Jessie's faith kept me in the FOLD no matter the circumstances. God lifted me up when I could not take care of myself. Jessie might have had a hand in that, doncha think? Today at church, Mother Madge, spoke a loving sermon that brought me to tears. The basis of which [from readings for today], was Jesus's final part of his journey on his way to Jerusalem . Tying in with the atrocity of what took place in New Zealand on Friday. Had I not wandered back from the soulless desert, I would not have been able to hear this. My lesson for today: be grateful for the small every day important things in life. Family, friends, and the love and support they give us. Be grateful for those who are no longer with us who provided a foundation for our lives. Isn't it all about love (?) as my Episcopalian leaders preach - from our blessed national church under the leadership of Bishop Michael Curry, to our local western Louisiana Bishop Jake Owensby, to our dear Mother Madge. We are blessed with a faith and people. For those of you who do not believe as I do, I pray you will read this with the love I meant to impart and not from a basis of religiousity. I am far from that. My faith is more spiritual than religious, but I am extremely grateful for Jessie's deep faith, and for those around me who continue to bolster my faith in my church and MY personal God. The God of Love. <3
No words.
One year ago today, I was ordained as a priest, eighteen months ago I arrived in Beautiful Downtown Abbeville to serve at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. How extraordinary that so many precious memories have been created in such a brief period of time. God's grace abounds!
To those who attended the study group yesterday, you might find this amusing😆
Yup!
Friday, March 8, 2019 People of Saint Paul’s, Lenten Opportunities: Each Friday at 5:30 – Stations of the Cross Tuesday Mornings 10:00 – Making sense of The Revelation to John Wednesday Evenings – Holy Eucharist Rite I, Soup and Salad Supper following Guest Presentation following: March 13- Islam March 20 – Buddhism and Hinduism March 27 – Wiccan Beliefs April 3 – The Celtic Faith Tradition Also, on another note, if you are interested in learning to set up the altar (Altar Guild) please let Mother Madge or I know. It would be nice to set up a schedule for rotations at either 8 or 10 o’clock services in the event whoever is setting up is ill or on vacation, etc. Next, if you are also interested in becoming a Lector(reader) let Mother Madge know. She sets up a list of readers quarterly and she emails the reading before your turn comes up on Sunday and if the event you are unable to read, we can find replacements. This is super de doper easy. We also have a shortage of Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEM). Mother Madge can find a training for you to be licensed and then she can scheduled you in to rotate with the current LEMs. Sorry, if this is too much information, but my in current career I have to be super organized. We also have a sign-up chart (on bulletin board at church) to bring a treat after church services when we visit with coffee. Sometimes three people bring yummy treats and sometimes there is none. If you are interested and you would like to volunteer to bring donuts, fruit, muffins, etc. on a particular Sunday, this would be awesome. Facebook is another platform we use to notify our parishioners and the community of service times and special events; the previous email was to inform you if you were unaware of our presence in this social media. No agenda, just presence. Sandra Broussard Likes Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church This message has been approved by Mother Madge
